AUDITIONS FOR FUNNY GIRL

The Dover Foundation welcomes everyone who shares a love of theater! Whether you’re an experienced performer, haven’t been on stage in years, or simply want to be part of a fun, creative community, there’s a place for you in our production of Funny Girl.

Please Note: Unfortunately, children are not permitted at auditions or rehearsals at St. Dunstan’s.

Auditions

Auditions for Funny Girl will take place in two parts:

Sunday, October 4 & Monday, October 5  - These two dates are only for Singing & Movement Auditions

• All actors must participate in either of these dates. Auditions will be scheduled in 20-minute time slots, with up to five people per slot.
• Ensemble: Prepare a song of your choice.
• Named roles: If you are auditioning for Fanny, Nick, Eddie, Mrs. Brice, or Mrs. Strakosh, please prepare one of their songs, as listed on the character description sheet below. 

Wednesday, October 7th - Lead and Supporting Role Audition

• Actors who would like to be considered for lead and supporting roles must attend this audition (see the Character Description sheet for a list of these roles).
• All actors attending Wednesday should plan to be there for the full 1½-hour session. You will read scenes from the show and rotate among different characters.
• Actors auditioning for Fanny may be asked to sing an additional number. If needed, you will be notified at your first audition.

What to Know Before You Arrive

• Please arrive 5 minutes before your scheduled audition time.
• Bring water!
• Wear comfortable clothing and shoes that you can move and dance in.
• Unfortunately, children are not permitted at auditions or rehearsals at St. Dunstan’s.
• Come ready to have some fun!

It is with great sadness we share with you the passing of Kathy Weld, our beloved member of The Dover Foundation family for more than 50 years. Kathy was an exceptional person, an incredibly talented musician who shared her love of music with us as our rehearsal and performance pianist for decades.
She encouraged all of us to be the best we could be and was patient and determined to help us succeed. She was our friend and a champion of the performing arts and worked tirelessly to improve our community.  Kathy will be missed by everyone in The Dover Foundation and will always be our very own “Queen Of The Keys”.
